The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has completed three hydropower projects totaling 63 megawatts, expected to generate Rs4.4 billion annually. The projects include the 40.8MW Koto project in Lower Dir, the 11.8MW Karora project in Shangla, and the 10.2MW Jabori project in Mansehra.

Secretary Energy and Power Nisar Ahmed announced these developments during a review meeting at the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation (PEDO). Additionally, work has accelerated on a 40-kilometre transmission line along the Swat corridor, set for completion next year.

Ongoing projects include the 300MW Balakot project in Mansehra and others in Swat and Chitral. Ahmed expressed concerns about delays in three key projects in Swat, aiming for a combined output of 330MW within two years. He emphasized the importance of timely completion and monitoring of all ongoing projects.
