Kushal Pal Singh Receives Lifetime Achievement Award at ET Awards for Corporate Excellence 2025

DEFENSE

Kushal Pal Singh, chairman emeritus of DLF, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ET Awards for Corporate Excellence 2025 for transforming Gurugram into a corporate hub. He played a crucial role in negotiating land acquisition with farmers, leading to the establishment of DLF, now India's largest real estate company with a market capitalization of nearly Rs 1.73 lakh crore.

Singh, who stepped down as chairman in June 2020, began his career in the Indian Army before joining DLF in 1960. Despite challenges, including outdated laws and lack of financing, he identified opportunities in Gurugram during the late 1970s, acquiring over 3,500 acres. His efforts resulted in DLF City, one of India's first privately planned townships, attracting major global corporations and contributing to Gurugram's urbanization and economic growth.
