LG&E is finalizing a 12-mile natural gas pipeline in Bullitt County, initiated in April 2025, to enhance service amid population growth. The pipeline will use mercaptan for leak detection and aims to support new customers in Mt.

Washington and Shepherdsville. Despite environmental concerns raised by Bernheim Forest, the Kentucky Supreme Court declined to hear a lawsuit against LG&E. The project is expected to finish by the end of February 2026.
