Liberia Electricity Corporation Aims for 500MW Power Generation by 2030 Under Mohammed Sherif

The Liberia Electricity Corporation, under Managing Director Mohammed M. Sherif, aims to achieve 500 megawatts of power generation by 2030, focusing on domestic generation, rural electrification, and technology modernization.
Currently, LEC operates 66MW at the Man Coffee Hydropower Plant and plans to connect 100,000 households through the Mission 300 initiative, supported by a $50 million government investment in smart metering. The corporation is also exploring partnerships for renewable energy projects and aims to reduce reliance on imported electricity.
