Lieutenant Commander Liam Whitfeld Returns to UK After Indo-Pacific Deployment

Lieutenant Commander Liam Whitfeld has returned to Plymouth, UK, after an eight-month deployment with HMS Richmond in the Indo-Pacific, where he participated in Exercise Talisman Sabre and trained on advanced sonar systems for future Hunter-class frigates. He was awarded the Herbert Lott Award for developing a tool to enhance surface-to-air missile capabilities against drones, which has since been implemented across the Royal Navy fleet. Additionally, Whitfeld engaged in soccer to foster diplomatic ties during his visits to South Korea, India, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
