MacDill Airmen Train Moroccan Soldiers in Humanitarian Mine Action Program

DEFENSE

U.S. Air Force EOD technicians from MacDill Air Force Base lead a Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) program in Morocco, training local soldiers in explosive ordnance disposal. This initiative enhances U.S.-Morocco partnerships and regional stability.

The team, which includes Tech. Sgt. Emilio Solis, Staff Sgt.

Julian Venegas, and Staff Sgt. Todd Miller, brings diverse international experience to the mission. They collaborate with U.S.

Army EOD specialists, reflecting a joint-force effort. Over five months, the training has certified 19 Moroccan soldiers in safe demining practices. The team aims to establish a self-sufficient Moroccan EOD program and plans to transition to an advisory role while potentially expanding HMA missions to other partners.
