Maj. Gen. Stephen Purdy has been reassigned from leading space acquisition at the Department of the Air Force to serve as Senior Advisor to Secretary Troy Meink, effective February 20.

Tom Ainsworth will perform the duties of Assistant Secretary for Space Acquisition, while Brig. Gen. Panzenhagen has been named military deputy at SAF/SQ. Purdy's new role involves advising on the DAF Space Acquisition portfolio and special projects amid expectations of a budget increase for fiscal 2027.
