Manitoba Hydro's integrated resource plan aims to boost electricity generation by 1,760 megawatts over the next decade, focusing on new wind farms and gas turbines. The strategy includes constructing three gas turbines in Brandon by 2030 and developing wind farms to generate 600 megawatts by 2035, with a pilot battery storage project expected by 2034. Additionally, the plan seeks to implement energy-saving measures to reduce peak demand by 860 megawatts, while existing power-sharing agreements with North Dakota and Minnesota will help mitigate winter shortages until 2030.
