NATURAL GAS

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew announced support for a $19 million clean energy project at the Crown Royal Distillery in Gimli, where Diageo plans to replace natural gas boilers with electric systems, aided by a new transmission line from Manitoba Hydro. Construction is set to begin in January, with completion expected by 2027. Kinew also urged Ontario Premier Doug Ford to reconsider a boycott of Crown Royal following job losses from the closure of an Ontario bottling plant.
