HYDRO POWER
Masvingo Province is poised for socio-economic transformation through major projects aimed at achieving upper-middle-income status by 2030, with significant investments in mineral beneficiation, agro-industrial manufacturing, and infrastructure. Notable developments include a US$500 million lithium sulphate plant by Sinomine Resource Group and a US$70 million chrome processing plant by Zimbabwe Zhongxin Chrome Smelting Company, both of which are expected to create jobs and enhance local economies. Additionally, a mini-hydro power plant and the dualisation of the Harare-Masvingo-Beitbridge highway are set to improve energy access and regional connectivity.
