Mayor Aki-Sawyerr Visits Youth-Led Climate Action Projects in Freetown

On December 20, 2025, Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr OBE visited six youth-led climate action projects in Freetown, funded by the Bloomberg Youth Climate Action Fund. The projects included a solar-powered market shade, a mangrove restoration site, and a biodigester system at Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, among others. Over the past two years, the fund has provided approximately $130,000 in grants to support 27 youth groups in the city.
