Meghalaya's Power Generation Capacity Reaches 356.5 MW with Focus on Local Employment in Projects

Meghalaya's total installed capacity of state-owned power generation has reached 356.5 MW, according to Power Minister Metbah Lyngdoh. The increase is attributed to projects such as the Lakroh Small Hydro Project and the Ganol Small Hydro Project.
The ongoing Riangdo Small Hydro Project is set to double its capacity to 6 MW. The government is finalizing financial plans for the 210 MW Myntdu Leshka Phase II project. Efforts to ensure local employment in power projects were also discussed, with commitments to prioritize local recruitment.
