Melbourne Beach Shoreline Restoration Scheduled for December 2025 to April 2026 by Dutra Group
Brevard County plans to restore the South Reach section of shoreline near Melbourne Beach from December 2025 to April 2026. This 3.8-mile area, starting at Flug Avenue in Indialantic and extending to Spessard Holland Park North, is managed by the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers, with Dutra Group as the contractor. Equipment staging will occur between Spessard Holland Park North and South. While the two parks will generally remain open, occasional beach area closures may occur.
Active sand placement is expected to begin in early January, moving northward from Spessard Holland Park, with pipe assembly on the beach scheduled for mid-late December and sand pumping to start in mid-January. Progress updates and maps will be provided by Olsen-Associates.
