Michigan Tech's APS LABS Receives $7.8M Contract for U.S. Army Vehicle Integrated Power Kit

Michigan Tech's Advanced Power Systems Research Center has been awarded a $7.8M contract by the U.S. Army's Defense Innovation Unit to develop a Vehicle Integrated Power Kit for tactical vehicles, specifically the FMTV A2.

The project, starting in early 2025 and lasting 18 months, aims to provide energy for battlefield operations while enhancing expeditionary power capabilities and reducing fuel consumption. Delivery is expected by September 2026.
