Morocco is considering the purchase of up to 400 K2 Black Panther tanks and KM-SAM air defense systems from South Korea as part of its military modernization efforts. This potential acquisition, following Minister Ryad Mezzour's visit to Seoul in April 2025, aims to diversify Morocco's military assets amid regional tensions with Algeria. If finalized, Morocco would become the first African country to operate these advanced systems.
