Mykhailo Fedorov has been appointed as Ukraine's defense minister by parliament, receiving 277 votes amid a significant budget shortfall of 300 billion hryvnias. The 35-year-old, previously the minister of digital transformation, plans to conduct a financial audit of the Defense Ministry and implement reforms in troop training and recruitment. He replaces Denys Shmyhal, whose anticipated role as energy minister was not approved.
