The Naval Research Laboratory has successfully completed the CHROMA experiment, aimed at enhancing AI applications in coastal hyperspectral imaging, from September 4 to 19, 2025. This initiative focused on improving material detection and characterization in coastal environments, generating hyperspectral datasets for both defense and civilian research. The data, collected from various platforms, will aid in AI-driven object detection for applications such as threat identification and infrastructure assessment.
