NGOs Urge Financial Institutions to Withdraw Support from Mozambique LNG Project Amid Human Rights Concerns

NATURAL GAS

NGOs have urged financial institutions to withdraw support from the Mozambique LNG project, recently relaunched by the Mozambican government and TotalEnergies, due to serious human rights concerns, including allegations of war crimes by local armed forces. Nearly 30 financial institutions that initially agreed to fund the project in 2020 are now being called to reconsider their involvement.
