Niger State Secures IsDB Support for $163 Million Solar Power Plant Project

Niger State, Nigeria, has secured support from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) for a $163 million solar power project aimed at addressing electricity shortages in central-north Nigeria. The 100-MW photovoltaic plant will cover approximately 200 hectares and is currently in the preparatory phase, which includes technical feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments. The IsDB will provide financial and technical assistance, although a construction start date has yet to be announced.
