NNSA, Sandia, and Kansas City National Security Campus Launch CAMINO Facility for Nuclear Security Prototyping

The NNSA, Sandia National Laboratories, and the Kansas City National Security Campus opened the CAMINO facility on February 12 to enhance rapid prototyping for nuclear weapons hardware and national security missions. Located at the Science and Technology Park near Kirtland Air Force Base, CAMINO integrates research with production capabilities. The facility aims to accelerate technology maturation and reduce development life cycles, facilitating earlier involvement of production agencies in design processes.
