Oak Ridge National Laboratory's ESED Expands Stable Isotope Production and Enrichment Technologies

Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Enrichment Science and Engineering Division (ESED) has expanded its workforce from 95 to over 250 since 2020, with plans for further growth by 2026. The division is pivotal in advancing enrichment technologies and stable isotope production, having completed the Department of Energy's Stable Isotope Production Facility and currently constructing a new research center. ESED also manages the Domestic Uranium Enrichment Centrifuge Experiment in collaboration with BWX Technologies to enhance U.S. enriched uranium production capabilities.
