Ogden Air Logistics Complex Prepares to Send Off Final A-10 Thunderbolt II
DEFENSE
The Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill Air Force Base will send off its last A-10 Thunderbolt II by the end of February, marking the end of its depot maintenance mission. The 571st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, which has supported the A-10 for decades, will deactivate following this mission.
The Air Force is shifting focus to modern aircraft like the F-35A Lightning II. A ceremony will commemorate the maintainers and personnel involved in the A-10 program, which has played a significant role in American airpower since the 1970s.
