The Ohio Power Siting Board has approved the construction of the 350-megawatt Apollo Power Generation Facility in Wood County, intended to supply power directly to a nearby Meta data center. The facility, operated by Will-Power OH, LLC, will use natural gas and feature 120 megawatts of battery storage, with construction set to begin around February 9, 2026. Despite the project's expedited approval, it has faced public opposition and raised concerns regarding air quality and potential carbon emissions exceeding 2.4 million tons annually.
