Oman is set to launch six large solar Independent Power Projects (IPPs) by 2030-31, adding a total of 6 GW of renewable capacity under the oversight of Nama Power and Water Procurement Company. This initiative is part of Oman's strategy to achieve 30-40% of its electricity generation from renewables by 2030 and aims to reduce reliance on natural gas, aligning with its net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2050. The country's renewable energy pipeline includes 24 projects, with total capacity expected to reach 12,182 MW by 2030-31.
