Ordnance Factory Medak Completes Amphibious Trials for BMP-II Combat Vehicles

Ordnance Factory Medak completed amphibious flotation trials for BMP-II infantry combat vehicles at Malkapur Lake. The trials, attended by officials from the Directorate General of Quality Assurance, aimed to validate the vehicles' amphibious capabilities and terrain handling.
Established in 1984, the factory produces various infantry combat vehicles for the Indian Army, including BMP-II variants and specialized vehicles. In 2024, it contracted with the Indian Army to upgrade 693 BMP-II vehicles to BMP-IIM standard, enhancing night operations and fire control systems.
