The Pakistan Navy has issued a tender for two 10 kW laser weapon systems and associated radars, with a deadline of March 10, 2026. This marks the PN's first procurement step towards shipborne directed energy weapons.

The systems will be imported and delivered within six months, aimed at countering unmanned aerial systems. Specifications include a scalable 10 kW high-energy laser with a range of 2.5 km, operational in all weather conditions, and integrated with the ship's combat management system.
