PCL Construction to Build $4B Bison Generation Station in North Dakota for Basin Electric

Basin Electric Power Cooperative has awarded PCL Construction a $4 billion contract to build the Bison Generation Station, a dual-unit natural gas power plant in Williams County, North Dakota. The facility will consist of two 745-MW units, generating approximately 1.5 GW when operational, starting in 2029.
The project, managed in collaboration with Burns & McDonnell, aims to support load growth from industrial and residential sectors. Peak construction is expected to employ around 1,000 workers, with commercial operations beginning in 2030.
