Pentagon Awards $68M for Hypersonic Technology Development to Six Firms

The Pentagon's Joint Hypersonics Transition Office has allocated $68 million to six vendors to expedite hypersonic technologies. The U.S. Army's Dark Eagle, the first ground-launched hypersonic weapon, is set for delivery by early 2026. Companies involved include Starfighters Space, Rocket Lab, Intuitive Machines, Kratos Defense, and Joby Aviation, all receiving funding to enhance production and testing capabilities in the hypersonic sector.
