Pentagon to Test Valar Atomics' Advanced Nuclear Reactor at Hill Air Force Base in Utah

DEFENSE

The Department of War and the Department of Energy announced a joint initiative to transport and test an advanced nuclear reactor developed by Valar Atomics. A compact reactor will depart from March Air Reserve Base in California on February 15 and travel to Hill Air Force Base in Utah for evaluation. This effort is part of Executive Order 14301, which aims for reactor criticality on U.S. soil by July 4, 2026.
