Philippine Air Force Inaugurates First Full-Motion Flight Simulator in Cebu
The Philippine Air Force (PAF) inaugurated its first two-in-one full-motion flight simulator (FMFS) on Wednesday in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. The FMFS is designed for training PAF helicopter pilots and includes interchangeable cockpits for the S-70i Black Hawk and Bell 412EP helicopters.
It aims to enhance pilot proficiency, reduce operational risks, and achieve cost savings on fuel and maintenance. The simulator, acquired under the Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program with a contract value of PHP246 million, was delivered by SIMULTEC SRL of Romania in March, installed on August 18, and passed final inspection on November 30.
The inauguration was attended by PAF chief Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura and other high-ranking officials.
