Philippine Navy Rescues 30 Passengers from Stranded Ship; 844 Filipinos Deported from Sabah

DEFENSE

The Philippine Navy rescued 30 passengers from the stranded M/L Nurdia, which experienced engine failure off Turtle Islands, and safely transported them for assistance. In a separate incident, 844 undocumented Filipinos were deported from Sabah, Malaysia, and received by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Zamboanga City. Additionally, over a ton of contraband items was seized during a search at Butuan City Jail, which is currently overcrowded.
