Physicists Identify Potential Triplet Superconductor for Quantum Computing Advancements
QUANTUM COMPUTING
Researchers led by Professor Jacob Linder have potentially observed a triplet superconductor, NbRe, which may facilitate energy-efficient quantum computing. Triplet superconductors enable the transport of spin currents with zero resistance, offering significant advantages over conventional superconductors.
The material exhibits superconductivity at 7 Kelvin, a relatively high temperature compared to other candidates. Further verification and testing are needed to confirm its properties.
