Poland Plans New AEW&C Platform to Replace Aging Saab 340s
DEFENSE
The Polish Air Force plans to replace its aging Saab 340 AEW&C aircraft, considering options like Saab's GlobalEye and L3Harris' CAEW, although no formal acquisition process has started. Recently, Poland signed a €52 million contract for two used Saab 340s, expected to serve as temporary solutions for about ten years. Additionally, the country is acquiring four aerostat-based platforms from the U.S. under a $1 billion deal to enhance its surveillance capabilities.
