Poland Surpasses 50% Renewable Energy Capacity, Achieving Key Decarbonization Milestone
NATURAL GASSOLAR ENERGY
As of December 31, 2025, renewable energy sources in Poland accounted for 50.04% of total installed capacity, surpassing coal. This marks a significant increase from 12,490 MW in 2020 to 37,777 MW in 2025, with renewables generating 31.41% of electricity.
Major growth in solar and wind power drove this transition, with solar capacity rising to 24,808 MW. Poland aims for renewables to represent 53-56% of energy by 2030, needing €650-670 billion in investments by 2040 to support this shift.
