Polk County Initiates Debris Removal Project at Lake Adger Post-Hurricane Helene

Polk County is set to begin a debris and sediment removal project at Lake Adger, aimed at restoring water flow and storage capacity after Hurricane Helene. Contracted with CERES Environmental, the project will address over 520,000 cubic yards of sediment, with operations expected to start in late January and last nine to 12 months. Environmental safeguards will be implemented to ensure compliance with FEMA and Army Corps of Engineers standards.
