DEFENSE

Porto de Imbituba concluded 2025 as a key player in Santa Catarina's logistics, driven by structural advancements and technological modernization. A significant milestone was the strategic authorization by the Brazilian Navy, allowing 40 experimental maneuvers with container ships up to 366 meters in length, enhancing its operational competitiveness.

The year marked the start of the largest expansion project in the port's history, with over R$ 115 million invested in Cais 3's upgrades, increasing its operational length from 200 to 335 meters. Additional projects on Cais 1 and Cais 2 are set to enhance capacity for simultaneous ship docking.

The port anticipates over R$ 300 million in public investments and recently signed a delegation agreement to unify the management of Imbituba and Laguna ports for 25 years. Operationally, the port handled 6.17 million tons by October 2025, with exports and imports showing significant growth, reaffirming its strategic role in Santa Catarina's trade.
