President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Andro Val Abayon as the new commander of the Presidential Security Command (PSC) and promoted him to the rank of rear admiral during a ceremony at Malacañang Palace on January 12, 2026. Abayon, who was previously a commodore in the Philippine Navy, has held various key positions within the Armed Forces, including Commander of the Naval Special Warfare Force. He officially took over as the 43rd PSC commander on November 20, 2025, and is responsible for the security of the President and the First Family.
