President Prabowo Subianto is set to inaugurate the Lumut Balai Unit 2 geothermal power plant in South Sumatra by the end of September 2025, as confirmed by Minister of Energy Bahlil Lahadalia. The plant, operated by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy, has a capacity of 55 megawatts and has been operational since June 29, 2025. This inauguration is part of a broader plan to expand geothermal energy capacity in Indonesia, with Pertamina aiming to enhance its total capacity significantly in the coming years.
