QatarEnergy announced plans to increase liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capacity by 85% through the North Field expansion, following the discovery of an additional 240 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves. The North Field West liquefaction project is set to produce 16 million metric tons per year, contributing to a total capacity of 142 million metric tons by 2030. Construction has begun with international partners, as QatarEnergy seeks buyers for 60 million metric tons from its new projects.
