Raytheon to Upgrade Jordan's Artillery Command and Control Software for $15.4 Million

DEFENSE

Raytheon has received a $15.4 million contract to update the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) for Jordan, as announced by the US Department of Defense on 17 December 2025. The project, part of a Foreign Military Sale, is expected to be completed by the end of 2029.

The AFATDS, used by the US military for fire support coordination, was previously sold to Jordan in February 2020, when the US approved up to 700 licenses and related equipment valued at $300 million. This upgrade will enhance the capabilities of the Jordanian Armed Forces in border defense using indirect fire systems. Concurrently, the US Army is transitioning to the AFATDS Artillery Execution Suite (AXS) for improved usability and faster engagement.
