Renugen Pro Launches $40M Hybrid Energy Project for Cat Island, San Salvador, and Long Island
Renugen Pro, a partnership between Wilkem Tech and Roswall Development, is launching a hybrid energy project exceeding $40 million on Cat Island, San Salvador, and Long Island in the Bahamas. The project will install hybrid microgrids powered by solar PV, battery energy storage, and natural gas generation, partnering with the Ministry of Energy and Transport and Bahamas Power and Light.
Cat Island will feature 1 MW of solar PV and 2.4 MW of natural gas, Long Island will have 3 MW of solar PV and 3.6 MW of natural gas, and San Salvador will include 1 MW of solar PV and 1.6 MW of natural gas. Completion is expected by 2027, following two years of preparatory work, including geotechnical studies.
Financing is being facilitated by Leno Bahamas, with a total project value estimated between $40 million and $45 million. New power purchase agreements were signed in June 2025 for these projects.
