ROK Navy Launches Four New Chamsuri-class PKMR Vessels at Busan Shipyard
On December 8, the Republic of Korea Navy and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration launched four Chamsuri-class PKMR fast attack craft at HJ Shipbuilding & Construction's Busan shipyard. The vessels, named Chamsuri-231, Chamsuri-232, Chamsuri-233, and Chamsuri-235, are part of the PKX-B Batch-II program, which aims to add 18 new PKMRs to replace older models.
Each vessel is 44 meters long, 7 meters wide, and can reach speeds of 40 knots, equipped with advanced weaponry and upgraded combat systems. The launch event included around 70 attendees from military and industry sectors. Following sea trials, the vessels are expected to be delivered to the ROK Navy between August and November 2026 for operational integration.
