Romania has resumed negotiations to acquire German IRIS-T SLM air defense systems, despite having signed a framework agreement for 18 SPYDER systems from Israeli company Rafael. The discussions, emphasized by recent talks between Romanian and German defense ministers, aim to enhance Romania's defense capabilities with EU funding, as the country plans to secure 41 air defense systems by 2030 with a budget of 4.2 billion euros.
