NATURAL GAS
Romania's Ministry of Defence has announced permanent monitoring of the Neptun Deep offshore gas project, highlighting its strategic significance and risks. Developed by OMV Petrom and Romgaz, the EUR 4 billion project is set to begin production in fall 2027, with an expected annual output of 8 billion cubic meters, which would enhance Romania's gas supply independence and establish it as a regional exporter. The project's reserves are estimated at 100 billion cubic meters, sufficient to meet Romania's consumption for a decade.
