Romania's Prime Minister Bolojan Highlights Economic Recovery Amid No-Confidence Motion
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that Romania is on the right path after taking difficult steps this year, during a joint session of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies addressing a no-confidence motion initiated by 117 parliamentarians. He emphasized the government's focus on financial order, good governance, and respect for citizens.
Bolojan noted that Romania avoided losing financial market confidence and began to rebalance the economy, resulting in a 12.3% increase in budget revenues and a reduction in the deficit compared to the previous year. He confirmed there will be no new tax increases next year, focusing instead on tax collection and attracting European funds.
The Prime Minister criticized the opposition for lacking constructive solutions and accused them of endangering national defense. He defended the government's actions regarding oil and gas royalties and concluded by stressing the need for responsibility and continued progress.
