Rotterdam Port Expands LNG Bunkering Capacity with New Dock Construction

NATURAL GAS

The Port of Rotterdam and Gate Terminal are constructing a new dock in the Yukonhaven to enhance LNG bunkering capacity in response to increasing demand for LNG as a ship fuel. The project, which will begin this year and is scheduled for completion by mid-2027, includes a 160-meter long dock suitable for both sea and inland navigation.

The construction will also involve deepening the harbor area. Gate Terminal serves as a key LNG terminal in Rotterdam, which is Europe's largest bunkering port.
