Royal Australian Air Force Enhances PNGDF Air Capability through Training and Community Engagement

DEFENSE

The Royal Australian Air Force's Olgeta Aviator Mobile Training Team - Charlie (MTT-C) is collaborating with the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) Air Transport Wing to enhance training, operations, maintenance, and logistics capabilities. The six-member MTT-C team is deployed for three-month rotations, three times a year, focusing on building relationships and sharing expertise.

Their recent deployment in September included technical training and leadership workshops alongside community outreach activities. The partnership has been reinforced by the signing of the Pukpuk Treaty, emphasizing mutual respect and shared objectives.

The team also engaged in renovations at Kiki Barracks in Port Moresby, improving living conditions for PNGDF families. The initiative is viewed as a model for effective regional defence partnerships that prioritize both operational success and community connections.
