The Royal Canadian Navy and the Department of National Defence are outlining requirements for the Continental Defence Corvette project, which aims to develop corvettes with capabilities similar to Halifax-class ships. These vessels will be tasked with various missions, including mine countermeasures, disaster response, search and rescue, coastal patrol, interdiction, anti-piracy, and humanitarian assistance, all supporting continental defence efforts.
