DEFENSE

Lieutenant Commander Adrian Hill received a commendation for preventing a £2.5 million Peregrine drone from crashing into the sea during operations aboard HMS Lancaster in the Gulf of Oman. The incident occurred during a routine patrol when a computer error caused the drone to descend rapidly.

Hill took manual control just before impact, successfully landing the drone. He became the first drone pilot to receive a Fleet Air Arm 'Green Endorsement' for his actions.
