Royal Navy to Integrate Naval Strike Missile for Enhanced Naval Capability

The Royal Navy will integrate the Norwegian Naval Strike Missile (NSM) into its fleet by late 2025, replacing the retired Harpoon system. The NSM, which has a range exceeding 100 miles and operates at supersonic speeds, made its operational debut during Exercise Aegir 25 in September 2025. Additionally, the Navy is advancing the Proteus Technology Demonstrator Project, with an unmanned helicopter's first flight scheduled for January 2026 to enhance maritime surveillance and strike capabilities.
